Protesters at the Organisation of American States in Washington asked the question bluntly: Who was behind the murder of former Browne ally-turned-opposition figure Asot Michael last November?
The protesters, in their plain-spoken way, have internationalised the debate about the vicious stabbing of the Member of Parliament of the Saint Peter constituency. Was someone else behind the murder?
Was it a political assassination?
“WHO CUT DOWN ASOT?” a protester asks on a placard.
“ASOT DEAD, WHO HAND DO IT?” asks another.
Why, since the murderer has confessed to the crime, does the government not provide a motive? Why is the judicial process so slow then the suspect has already admitted everything?
Or has he admitted everything? Is there more to the murder that we do not know about?
These questions will likely plague Gaston Browne until they are answered.
