Report: Gaston says Gisele Isaac ‘will die a horrible death’

Opposition party leader Gisele Isaac “will die a horrible death,” Prime Minister Gaston Browne said, according to the Observer.

“I strongly believe he’s trying to get me killed. And I reported him to the police last Wednesday,” Antigua Newsroom reports UPP chairwoman Gisele Isaac as saying.

That was almost exactly six months after the stabbing murder of Browne’s former parliamentary ally, Asot Michel, which took place on November 5, 2024. The murderer confessed to the crime but the government is silent about the motive.

Antiguans abroad protested in Washington, asking who really was behind the killing.

Now Gisele Isaac is afraid. Publicly she draws no connection.

“The CID officer told me to ‘be the bigger person’ and I asked him what the force would have done to me if I had made the statement that ‘Gaston is going to die a horrible death?’ Would they not have come for me with the Riot Squad?” Isaac said, according to Antigua Newsroom..

She said an officer told her that someone would call her, but she said she never got the call.

“She said she was told that what was said is not tantamount to a threat ‘because Gaston didn’t say he was going to make me die a horrible death,'” the Antigua Newsroom reported Isaac as saying

“So, after I’m hurt or killed, I guess the cops will just brush me off,” she said.
