The public works director has “issues” of non-performance, so Prime Minister Browne has transferred him from his wife’s Ministry of Housing, Works, Lands, and Urban Renewal to run the Chinese airport runway extension.
“The Ministry of Housing and Works said that Public Works Director Aldin Crump has been reassigned to assist with the airport runway rehabilitation project, formally disassociating itself from reports that he was fired,” the Antigua Observer reports.
The government denies reports that Crump was fired, but Browne says he has “issues.”
“When Crump was working under the UPP administration, they moved him for non-performance. And you know what we said on our side? We said this is political victimization,” said Browne, adding that, looking back on it, “I will accept that there are issues.”
